Mango Languages- Learn a new language with this interactive database that provides structured, step by step lessons for 71 different languages. This database features ESL lessons for Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese speakers. First time users must create a short profile in order to access the resource, login for free using your New York Public Library card information (not your Brooklyn Public Library Card).

​duolingo- duolingo is a free, 3rd party language learning app for your mobile devices. The app does contain ads, but allows you to learn a language in your spare time, using play-based learning for free. There is a quick sign-up process to begin your classes.

FREE In-Person English Classes For Adults

The Brooklyn Public Library in Sheepshead Bay  

2636 E. 14th St. at, Avenue Z, Brooklyn, NY 11235 

offers FREE English classes for adults twice a week.

The classes take place every Monday & Thursday at 11:00am,

but you must get there early (around 10:30am)

to get a ticket from librarian at the main desk.

There are a limited number of spots available for each class,

so if you want to guarantee a spot for yourself, please come early.
